Dowdall Surveying

Services

The Home Condition Survey is designed for use on any property, regardless of condition or style. Every property is inspected in the level of detail required based on its individual attributes, and all findings are fully reported. As part of the service, you have an initial conversation with me so I can learn more about you and your intended use for the property. Once you have had time to digest the report, you can book a video call to discuss my findings and ensure you fully understand what is being reported to you.

The following areas are inspected and reported on:

  • External elements
  • Internal elements
  • Services
  • Grounds
  • Garages and outbuildings
  • Legal matters
  • Environmental concerns
  • The local area and nuisances (when identified during the inspection)

You can find a complete description of this service on the Advice Hub page.

You can request that a valuation be included with the service, which will be provided at an additional cost.

A RICS accredited valuation is a report produced by a qualified surveyor who is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). It provides an independent and professional opinion on the value of a property or asset. My valuation report is fully RICS compliant and benchmarked against the highest global standards.

You can use it for the following:

  • Private market valuation
  • Help to Buy
  • Shared ownership
  • Probate
  • Etc.

You can also have a valuation report included with your Home Condition Survey. Please let me know if you would like this. However, they come at an extra cost, and you don’t always need one. I am happy to discuss this with you.

Why do I need a survey?

The cost of property in the UK is continually rising, and our housing stock is getting older each day. The need to have a property inspected by a professional is getting more critical as time passes, especially with a changing climate and the government’s intention to improve energy efficiency in domestic dwellings.

Having a survey is a personal choice, but would you make any other expensive purchase without gaining as much information about the product as possible? Would you drive a car that has no MOT?

You can find more information on the advice page, but you can always call me if you need clarification. There is no hard sell; I want what is right for you.
